Chivas Regal -- 186 lbs (-43) [3X]

The original Chivas Regal was aged for at least 25 years. The 25 yr is still being produced today and sells for $300 (before taxes & fees). I went for the $20 version, of course, and I'd say it stood up very well against all the blended whiskies I've tried thus far.

That the attractive Chivas Regal packaging says Chivas Brothers was established in 1801 is a bit misleading. The grocery store that was to evolve into Chivas Brothers opened in 1801, but James Chivas didn't start working there as an assistant until 1838; didn't start selling his first blended whisky product until the 1850's; didn't bring in his brother until 1857; and Chivas Brothers didn't start selling Chivas Regal until 1909, at which point no Chivas family member was running the business.

The interesting history of Chivas Regal (and The Glenlivet) is chronicled here:

What I consumed yesterday:
● 15 oz Chivas Regal 12 yr
● 2 apple slices
● Half slice buttered toast
● Half Starbucks cinnamon bun
● .6 Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut granola bar
● 2 spoons of Dreyer's French Silk ice cream
● 16 cheddar cheese cubes
● Jade Dragon twice cooked pork
● .75 fortune cookie
● 2 mini Reese's peanut butter cups
