Well, that was an unusually consistent week--no diet drama. Almost boring in its steady control, were it not for my Ironman weight scale. Every day, my Ironman has been telling me that my metabolic age is 50--depressing given that I'm not quite 50 yet. Today, even though my weight didn't change, it informed me that my metabolic age is now 48. Success! I'm getting younger!!

One of the foods in my arsenal is The Laughing Cow Light cheese wedges. They are 35 calories, don't need refrigeration, and stay good for months. They are particularly useful when I can't make it to dinner without something solid. The one I popped in my mouth yesterday was way more solid than usual with a strange texture and taste. Apparently "good for months" is not the same as "good forever"--it expired a month ago.

A MOD Pizza restaurant just opened up in our area, and I could not resist the temptation of a new pizza restaurant. Luckily for my diet, these pizzas are more like flatbread, so they don't have a ton of calories. I ate 1.3 pizzas and managed to maintain. BTW, it was a madhouse in there--I've never seen anything quite like it.

Well, I did it--consumed only whiskey (aka whisky) yesterday. Christian Bates would be proud. I was very apprehensive about feeling sick, lack of protein, and/or not falling asleep without solids in my stomach. But I was completely surprised by how well I felt, how clearly I thought I thought, and how disgusting Snake River Stampede tastes (to me). I thought this would be a one-time stunt, yet now I am looking forward to some statistically insignificant experimentation (in other words, not too soon, and not too frequently).
